Sonia Weech added on Facebook. "Lots of comments about WF people losing their jobs over this, however it would be a company supported party, and someone signed off onto it. They won't get fired." PHOTOS: NY City Energy List Others found commonalities out of this party with other insensitive depictions. "This, if true, needs to function as the most disgusting display of insensitive cruelty since American fraternity boys put blackface-designed and KKK college parties," Robin S. Fletcher said on Facebook. "For individuals employees to poker fun at those who have lost their houses is disgusting. They believe it's funny? At hospital Halloween parties, do employees dress like those who have died within their building? What about insurance providers who deny sick people medical health insurance, do their employees yuck up by dressing like sick people?" creates Mary in Texas, in reaction towards the NYT column. "This is actually the very reason I personally don't like shows like storage wars, operation repo, and also the pawn shop show... I do not see what's funny about others misfortune," James Thomas Sr. said on Facebook. "It's nastier still that a number of these photos show youngish, most probably lower-rung employees unctuously clowning for his or her corporate masters," Daniel Guideracommented around the NYT column. "Whoever is making the millions running this foreclosures mill will eventually throw these carrying out closes towards the baby wolves just the moment take a look at them." A Gawker commenter, vinyluwant, also felt the person people within the photographs aren't entirely responsible. "In my experience, this really is someone who're pathetically overinvested using their bosses. I don't know how much cash the folks in individuals pictures earn, however i'm creating a guess that it's nowhere near what their bosses make, and for that reason nearer to the salaries of the extremely people they're mocking." For Baum, the mind from the firm told The Zoysia News inside a statement Saturday the photos "clearly were in poor taste." Asmaa
One Dollar Film presentation from the New Century, Film Clinic production. (Worldwide sales: Pacha Pictures, Paris.) Produced by Mohamed Hefzy. Directed, put together by Amr Salama. With: Hend Sabry, Maged El Kedwany, Hany Adel, Ahmed Kamal, Sayed Ragab, Botros Ghali, Fatma Adel.Though Helps can happen old-hat having a, it's good to remember that it remains a hot-button subject, and not among so-referred to as under developed nations. Amr Salama's sophomore feature, "Asmaa," is pitched just like a brave story for your Arab world, but no such reductionism is required with this particular fact-based tale from the Helps-positive lady who went public while using disease around the chatshow. Salama has produced a good problem pic, featuring strong perfs together with a fantastically emotional finale, which will do robust biz fitness center may require current fascination with Egypt abroad. More than a movie of a disease, "Asmaa" can be a demand empowerment that ultimately works becoming an accessible pic for general auds rather than jaded fest types. Consequently, it is not above using fancy mix-cutting and a bit of melodramatic frippery to deepen the protag's character and highlight her emotional trajectory, even though it produces real energy in no time marked having a rawer clearness. An instantaneous succession of edits produces a sense of emergency within the presence of Asmaa (Hend Sabry), a 45-year-old widow dealing with father Hosni (Sayed Ragab) and teen daughter Habiba (Fatma Adel). While being wheeled looking for gallbladder surgery, she's counseled to keep mother about good info, but within the last second she unveils she's Helps-positive, and doctors will not operate. Within a support-group meeting, she's approached having a TV producer who notifies her that turning up around the talkshow guarantees national attention as well as the sympathy of ethical doctors ready to perform the simple yet critical procedure. Nevertheless the host, Mohsen (Maged El Kedwany), doesn't want another anonymous presence and demands she reveal her face. This becomes Asmaa's real struggle: Go public, even though Habiba doesn't know, or remain fearful and vulnerable to dying in the curable condition that has nothing associated with Helps. One factor is for several: She'll not reveal how she contracted herpes. At first, Asmaa is uncertain and timid, scraping together a complete time earnings becoming an airport terminal terminal janitor and focusing a significant amount of energy on keeping things hidden (she's asymptomatic). It was not always similar to this: In flashbacks to her native village, she's open and independent, winning the admiration of Mosaad (Hany Adel). They're married, but her strong-willed character causes friction inside their conservative town, plus an ensuing tragedy drives her to Cairo, where she is going to keep her scarf-covered mind lower. Helmer Salama (whose playfully ironic segment "The Politician" can be a memorable part of the Venice-preemed docu "Tahrir 2011") moves forward and backward with time to accomplish Asmaa's character and background, underscoring the means by which insufficient understanding breeds fear. Moments inside the village have some soapy artificiality that may not connect to Western audiences, nevertheless the realism in the present-day packs a hard punch for individuals, due to the inevitable swell of support for just about any enjoyable character meaning herself the woman the pic will depend on wasn't so lucky. "Asmaa" can be a gift for star Sabry, who fully inhabits the contradictions from the lady whose path from passionate and independent youthful bride to tense, cowed widow is marked by satisfying moments of fire. She's also given an chance to prove her perfect comic timing, revealing a side all-too-rarely used lately outdoors TV. El Kedwany ("Cairo 678") again proves he's a talent almost from another time, when character stars exuded complexity making devoted auds smile with each screen appearance. Toward the emotional buildup for the will-she-or-won't-she climax, the editing has difficulty selecting the very best rhythm, undercutting the stress with many different moments previously until, just when things come off as too extended, Salama finds the very best balance and rides it for just about any fantastically affecting payback. Color tones are carefully modified to differentiate between time frames, getting a golden light suffusing village moments contrasting by getting an icier blue in Cairo. Salama acquired the Abu Dhabi fest's Arab helmer award, while El Kedwany needed home the actor prize.Camera (color, 16mm-to-35mm), Ahmad Gabr editor, Amr Salah production designer, Hend Haider costume designer, Monia Fath El Bab appear (Dolby Digital), Ahmad Adnan, Gomaa Abdel-Latif line producer, Ahmed Badawy connect producer, Bushra Rozza. How do you possibly promote a movie about a promiscuous high school student in the ’80s? If you’re ripping a page out of the Weinstein Co.’s Dirty Girl’s marketing book, try launching a blog where users can anonymously share their deepest, darkest, most twisted sexual fantasies… then making it accessible for anyone aged 13 and up! Um, guys…? Today Movieline received a press release announcing the viral marketing website for Abe Sylvia’s Dirty Girl called Dirty Secrets Blog, a “wildly addictive blog [that] lets users anonymously spill their dirty secret.” There, after confirming that you are at least 13 years old — seriously, only 13 years old — users can create a clever pseudonym and post about their own naughty musings and sexual fantasies, just the way Dirty Girl’s heroine Danielle (Juno Temple) might…if she had access to the Internet in the ’80s. Take a look at some of the threads (warning: NSFW): Will you be partaking in this sexy marketing adventure? Or does the idea of this sexual fantasy blog targeting teenagers make you cringe and wish for simpler times like Oklahoma in the ’80s? Maybe that’s the actual intention of this viral venture. Dirty Girl premieres October 7 and follows “the story of two mismatched misfits headed for the bright lights of California, and how they discover each other and themselves through a funny and serendipitous friendship.” The Juno Temple-starrer is rated R “for sexual content including graphic nudity, and for language,” and though it’s not readily apparent exactly what the quirky road trip pic has in common with the Dirty Secrets blog aside from its title and filthy mind, Weinstein Co. might want to in the least reconsider boosting its age-gate. Otherwise youngsters who aren’t even old enough to buy a ticket could wind up learning a lot more from the film’s viral blog than the film itself. Update: We’ve added evidence that users only need to be 13 to enter the site. Second update 10:15pm PT: The blog’s age-gate has been increased to 18 years and older. Good move. [Dirty Secrets]
